More Winter in New England

We are having a fun time with winter here in Boston! With 18" of reported snow yesterday in Boston, Monday was another work holiday for Tim. Here are some photos we took on Sunday, BEFORE the additional foot and a half of snow. All told, we have had the most snow in a 1 week period since 1891. Kimie, Divya has been having a blast climbing up on top of the snow piles on our street- he is almost able to reach the top of the streetlights in places! This is where plows have piled snow- it will be interesting to see whether the City comes and removes these, as more snow is expected soon!

We went for a snowy run on Saturday, and on Sunday, decided to drive to the Arnold Arboretum and take a walk through the park. We were surprised to see the numbers of folks out cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and walking through the snowy paths. Of course, it was gorgeous and it made us wish we had a set of skis ourselves!

We hear Japan was scheduled for snow and hope Papa, Mom, Norie, Hiro, and Leia are staying warm and dry!

Beautiful! Do you guys have snow shoes?
Yup - we're due for more snow tomorrow! Yay! Leia's snow boots from Santa are getting some great use! And the wonderful brown snowsuit from Maile ;)
Glad to have Shiki work out of the way just in time before all this snow! I'll try to bear a bit of cold to catch a few photos tomorrow...

I was happy that Friday's snow was local enough that I didn't have to drive in it all the way to Izu. Shaded areas like our back garden strip are still decorated with lumps of white. All that snow in Boston is pretty to look at from this distance.

Wow - -this is gorgeous! meanwhile in Portland, we are having high temps in the mid-50's. I'm pulling weeds and putting plants in the ground before the dry summer weather arrives - -it's around the corner!
