Four day weekend for teacher appreciation week

We just returned from a 4 day weekend celebrating teacher appreciation week. It was awesome because my friend invited me and Irene to join them when their friends cancelled their forest service cabin reservation in at Prineville Reservoir in eastern Oregon. We had our own cabin but were able to enjoy day hikes with friends and campfire stories together.  It’s near the Warm Springs Indian reservation I had not been back in 8 yrs since Carole had passed away and we had spent a lot of time camping in the summers in that area so it was a bitter sweet good time to return. We stayed 3 nights and got in a good couple of hikes on the reservoir and at a nearby point of interest called Steins Pillar (a massive chunk of rock jutting out of a river canyon). Wish I could send you the fragrant juniper and sage brush. But enjoy the sky. Wish we could all reunion there sometime! Portland City United (PCU) Girls 2009 (birthyear) team takes State Cup May 1, 2021

Naomi's team won their final game in the State Cup tournament yesterday morning 3:1.  With that comes the happy realization that they are on to Regional Competition in Utah in June.  The only sad part is that Naomi will miss most of Jon's family's visit as she will be gone June 13 or 14 until June 20.  Here are post-game photos with the medals and trophy! We are all very proud of this girl who gives her all to this team and to the game of soccer. She's early to every practice and game, and plays her heart out with courage and full commitment no matter which position! Go Naomi!
