All... I woke up on the last morning of my 38th year and had to put this down on paper. I later posted on Facebook and got a bunch of folks thanking me for sharing, so I thought I'd share it with you here. Much love and many thanks for all you have done and continue to do to enrich my life.

Knocking on door 39 today. I’ve been a husband for 10 years, small business owner for 9 years, a father for 8yrs and student of life for 38yrs. Looking back, 38 has been an amazing year and I've learned some valuable lessons.
1) The world is filled with possibilities if you come from a place of abundance and work your way to the answer from there, as opposed to a place of need and “have not” and struggling to make do.
2) I've been my own gatekeeper on what capability and achievement lies in store. The right answer is, “Yes I do have time to do this” and “Yes I will do my best”. – That’s it.
3) Hard times always lurk, you can never be to careful or sure that life won't challenge you to rise in challenging times... Be prepared and be willing to submit to the challenge and you will work through it. The opportunity to lead presents itself.
4) No man is an island. I've had an amazing life so far, and met many amazing people who are, today more than ever, a part of my community, my network, and a powerful source of motivation, opportunity, and inspiration - I owe my achievements and wisdom in part to the power and insights of you all.
5) Marriage and business partnerships are very similar. You owe your commitment to success in the smallest to the grandest of tasks to achieve common goals. It takes more than a vision, the execution and management towards success is critical. I could not have possibly had the life I’ve had without one of the greatest partners one could ask for. – Build your alliances thoughtfully and give them everything you’ve got and it will pay back in spades.
6) If you can’t enjoy the life you’re working for, something’s not right. I’ve worked harder and committed more of myself to my business than my family over the past few years – while it’s been necessary, it doesn’t make it right – and I know that.
Tonight, I’ll cross over the threshold of 38 to 39 carrying deep imprints of these lessons.
End pasted post.
Norie, for my b day I would love iTunes credit. There is an amazing app called paper (http://www.fiftythree.com/paper) that I would love to get. I also just fell in love with "Tomorrow Never Knows" off the Beatles Revolver album and want to buy it on iTunes so... The timing is perfect.
Love you all! Jon
