Hi all! Sorry, I have photos to post too, but Kimie has the cable for uploading our images from the camera to the computer, and I hope to get it back from her today. It is so wonderful to see photos of everyone (Ken and Tiffany, where are you?) -- we had a really great Christmas at home for the first time since Ben was a baby. Thank you to everyone who sent gifts for the boys -- they had a great day from start to finish!
We were planning to drive down to Grants Pass today to see Ken and Tiffany, but instead we'll go next month. There is a chance they will come here later this week, which would be nice, but Tiffany doesn't have much time off work, so we'll have to see if they want to make that long journey.
Miss you all -- Happy New Year! Julie Jr.
OK, five days later (Happy New Year!), here I am updating this post and adding photos. I uploaded images from my camera from October to Christmas, but I will spare you the Halloween photos at this point. Here are the boys dressed up (at their suggestion!) to go to a holiday family symphony concert.

Making gingerbread cookies (no icing, you'll notice). Jon and Maria must be able to relate to this one -- keeping your child happy with alternatives to refined sugar during the high-sugar-consumption holiday season! We had to bring our own treats for Paul to each and every holiday gathering and party!

These next few are from the end of October -- we had unusually dry fall weather, and we enjoyed a day of raking leaves at the park and jumping into the pile!

Norie sent a nice package of things at Halloween time, including this train coloring page, which inspired Ben to get his crayons and get to work -- his first time to do this, which I loved watching because he usually protests any fine-motor work! Thank you, Aunt Norie and Uncle Hiro!

A cherished reward at the end of Paul's first soccer season:

"Run Like Hell" Halloween Fun Run in Portland. 5K for me, 1/2 mile run for the boys.

OK, I lied -- one Halloween photo. Paul was a "robber." Ben wanted to be a racoon, but I was too busy to make him a costume, so a friend offered an outgrown dragon/dinosaur costume. Ben's response when I suggested the alternative? "OK." You gotta love a kid this agreeable at Halloween time -- no amount of money can get you this!

November: A fall walk on Reed College campus. (11 years after graduating, Lucien no longer breaks out in hives at the sight of the campus, so we can enjoy walks there!) (PS I hate my haircut in this photo -- can someone photo-shop in a nice hat for me?)

Ben wears new mittens hand-knit by his Mama.
