Halloween activities in Nerima

Leia and Norie met us for dinner at the Italian restaurant.

(I ate way too much and the wine was good)''

After we got home, Leia had fun in the costume box.

Maybe some of these you remember. (think bi-centennial in freehold).

After looking further, there was a dress and apron to match the doll's.

Don't they make a cute pair?

It was a lot of fun re-visiting all the costumes in the box.

Most was home-made. A couple of clownish pieces, two Indian costumes complete with bells and drum and tomahawk ... wigs of yarn and fluff ... I think the skype crew saw the crab hat.

Norie and Leia brought this tiny little pumpkin for carving.

It is lit with a tiny little LED light.

There were two witch costumes on the trunk and Norie rushed in ad put one on ... one size fits all with a drawstring.

On a smaller model.

This one was a gift from Papa's friend. It dropped glotter all over the dog hair coating the floor.

Saturday was mostly spent in the cookie factory. Leia took a box home to share and Papa and I each took a small box. I will share mine with the choir tomorrow and Papa will share his at a meeting.

For some reason the settings were changed and all the pictures came out quite dark.

You can see how small that pumpkin is!

The results ....

Wish you were here to take a nibble, Mom

Today the choir sang first service and we had coffee in the choir room afterwards. Leia helped me pack a box of cookies to share with the choir.
It has been less than a year since out Christmas cookie factory when we made twice as many cookies and Leia did not want to part with any of them. This time she even picked out some of the best ones she made for me to share. I am so proud of her progress in that regard and want her to know that when the cookies were placed out for the group to eat, there were as many cameras as people hovering around that selection. Thanks for making me feel so proud of our cookie team!

The Latest on Leia Lately, Leia has been giving names to all of her stuffed animals, dolls, and any character in a book we come across without a name. They are very creative for the most part... Today, she named her doll from Aunt Marie and Aunt Kimie " Baby Jesus "!! I guess she remembered the name from when I told her the story of Christmas and it made an impression on her. I just had to share that with you all. I'm trying my best not to explode into laughter each time she says it. :) These days, Leia likes to run to yochien, and run home from yochien, and "race" me on the bike. She is a fast runner, and barely runs out of breath, and so someday, I expect her to visit Marie and Tim for the Boston marathon! Today, she actually ran out of breath, telling me, "There is no more air in my tummy! (Onaka ni kuuki ga nakunacchatta!)" She learned a song in yochien where they use the expression "gozansu" as a sentence ending. These days, she adds it ...

Jiji's paintings

Hi all, We had a productive day at Shiki yesterday and had the estimate for the move to the storage, where we will make the final labeling and preparation for shipment to the US. We will be back there a few more times before the move to storage on the 16th, Friday. There are a few more items I'd like for you all to look at, but since I don't have all the data collected, I'll send them in batches. Here are a few of Jiji's paintings I'm wondering if anyone is interested in. Please let me know! Thanks!
