There's an exhibit of Allen Say's original artwork at Multnomah County Library here in Portland. Today was the reception and book signing event. It was very well attended. Here's a few shots of our gang:
I bought a copy of his new book entitled My Favorite Daughter. Kimie bought several, including a recent award winner Drawing From Memory about his early years as an aspiring artist and apprentice with the Japanese master, Noro Shinpei.
We feel very lucky to live in Portland, where Allen Say resides. He rarely make public appearances, but we are sure to find out and attend when he does!
