Boston / Colorado Trip

Had a great time in Boston and Colorado visiting with family!!! We started our trip in Boston visiting Marie and Tim.  The weather was absolutely perfect only raining maybe for one day while we were there.  We spent time playing at the neighborhood park, seeing some of the historic sites, birding in the garden, visiting the Children's Museum, exploring Cape Cod for a few days, checking out the New England Aquarium, and lots of site seeing and more birding.
The Cape was absolutely gorgeous. We traveled in Tim's brand new truck which was very smooth. Zia spent time birding with Tim, while Marie, Ryden, and I  spent mornings on the beach searching for sea creatures, such as sand fleas, crabs, and sand crabs  (mole crabs). Our trip to Boston was way too short, we would have loved to have stayed longer.  Zia managed to get 20 new life bird's putting her total over 500!!! Thank you Tim and Marie for such an awesome visit.
Then off to Colorado to visit Jon, Maria, Kai, and Maile.  The weather again was nice with only a couple cold days.  We got to watch Kai perform in a school band concert and play in a marching band for the local Halloween parade.  He sounded great!! We did quite a bit walking and hiking around despite Maile's knee injury. We visited Rocky Mountain National Park for a short hike around Lilly Lake and elk viewing in Estes Park at the golf course.  She sure was a trooper traveling everywhere on crutches.  We also went to the Children's Museum in Denver, making sure to keep our hands well sanitized. Probably one of Ryden's favorite highlights was going trick or treating with Maile, Maria, Kai, their neighbor Kylie, and I. Although his costume was a couple sizes too small, it didn't seem to slow him down.  Thank you Jon, Maria, Kai, and Maile for such a spectacular visit. Wish we could have stayed there longer too.  Miss you all already and hope to see you again soon!!!!

The Latest on Leia Lately, Leia has been giving names to all of her stuffed animals, dolls, and any character in a book we come across without a name. They are very creative for the most part... Today, she named her doll from Aunt Marie and Aunt Kimie " Baby Jesus "!! I guess she remembered the name from when I told her the story of Christmas and it made an impression on her. I just had to share that with you all. I'm trying my best not to explode into laughter each time she says it. :) These days, Leia likes to run to yochien, and run home from yochien, and "race" me on the bike. She is a fast runner, and barely runs out of breath, and so someday, I expect her to visit Marie and Tim for the Boston marathon! Today, she actually ran out of breath, telling me, "There is no more air in my tummy! (Onaka ni kuuki ga nakunacchatta!)" She learned a song in yochien where they use the expression "gozansu" as a sentence ending. These days, she adds it ...

Jiji's paintings

Hi all, We had a productive day at Shiki yesterday and had the estimate for the move to the storage, where we will make the final labeling and preparation for shipment to the US. We will be back there a few more times before the move to storage on the 16th, Friday. There are a few more items I'd like for you all to look at, but since I don't have all the data collected, I'll send them in batches. Here are a few of Jiji's paintings I'm wondering if anyone is interested in. Please let me know! Thanks!
