How nice to have a free day! I arose early to water my greenhouse plants, enjoy my banana and oatmeal with a cup of coffee and pack up my tricycle for a trip to the coin laundry.
Several false starts later ... unlocking the door and going back for this and that ... including the tire pump as all three tires were flat ... figuring out how to work the pump on my tires ... finding a carabiner to hook on Nikko's leash where the clip had broken ... we set off for the post office. Jon, the tax papers are now on their way to you by EPS.
Next, it was down to the river and follow the river past a big park and turn left toward the coin laundry. Several hours later, after asking dozens of people and finding the first place closed, we were able to find a place with a row of machines. 200 yen and 30 minutes ... not counting how long it took to figure out how those machines worked ... my book almost finished, a kind lady stopped by to make sure I had found the place OK. After figuring out how to open the machine, I loaded up my laundry basket and hit the road back toward home. (Should have followed the river because we ended up in Nerima near the station.) Oh well, back toward home, stopping at the market for milk and more bananas, and now the clean laundry is all happily hanging in the sunny greenhouse.
Nikko demanded her "breakfast" better late than never ... and is now zonked out on the livingroom floor. Life is quiet because somehow the cable to the TV got disconnected yesterday while messing with the printer.
Tomorrow will be a very busy day as I have to get to Tama by 7:am for a day of camp. Sunday also will be a very early start to get to church for the early service where a small group is doing a singing announcement, then choir and practice for choir Sunday followed by our raingutter regatta with the Taito pack near Asakusa. Then Monday it starts all over again with 4:am rice patrol and 6:15 out to school
The good news is ... I will have a choice of fresh clean clothing to wear ... and now I know how to find the coin laundry!
Love to all, Mom
