Hi guys I figured it was about time I posted to the blog, and what a better occasion than to share some pictures from our wedding ceremony. We drove down to the redwoods on highway 1 to a small coastal town called Little River and stayed at a cozy cottage that provided services for a ceremony, minister, and photographer. The day of the ceremony we were worried that the weather was going to be foggy and gloomy, but as we drove inland to the redwood grove to meet the minister and photographer the fog thinned out and the sun started to shine. From the trailhead we hiked in to the grove for 10 min. or so and picked a place for the ceremony between 2 enormous redwood trees. The ceremony lasted for about 20min. then we hiked around the grove together with the photographer so he could shoot some photos of us.
We then parted ways with the minister and photographer and headed back into town for dinner and to stay the night at the cottage. The next day we continued on the winding hwy 1 and over the golden gate bridge enroute to Monteray CA near where Zia had worked with sea otters. We visited the aquarium there and then went looking for otters. We had hoped to visit Big Sur, but did not have enough time, so the next day we packed up and headed back to Oregon.
We spent the following weekend here at home. I split wood for the coming winter and Zia helped me stack the wood. Then spent the next day on the couch resting my back.
The next weekend we drove up to Portland to visit with the Portland gang and cheer Marie as she ran the marathon, root for Ben at his soccor game, and cheer Paul at his baseball game. After Marie's race we were treated to an excellent Chinese dinner at 5 spice by Tim and Marie and were joined by Stephen and Debra and their two kids.
The next morning Tim, Peter, Zia and myself headed to Madras, OR to do some flyfishing on the Deschutes river with very little success. As a birthday gift to Tim from Marie which Peter and I generously benefited from we rented a private pond to fish on. We all had a lot more success there catching several nice rainbow trout. Zia and I left Peter and Tim there for our long drive back to Grants Pass.
It was great seeing everyone, and as always wished I and everybody else in the Fukuda family lived closer together for more frequent reunions.
Zia, finally done with her job in Bend, will move in with me tomorrow and we will start our married life together here in Grants Pass. At the end of this month we will take a trip to Belize for our honeymoon. At some point Zia's mom would like to have a family gathering at their place in Klamath Falls which is quite far for people to travel, but hope that people can still make it.
Lots of Love-
Ken
